Darling Point, situated on the eastern side of Sydney Harbour, was originally part of the larger territory of the Gadigal clan of the Eora people. Following the introduction of road access in the 1830s, the area was named Mrs Darling’s Point, after Eliza Darling, the wife of Ralph Darling, the then Governor of New South Wales.

Nestled along the harbour, Darling Point is home to hidden gems, including the secluded sandstone steps at McKell Park, which lead to a peaceful swimming spot—one of the suburb’s best-kept secrets. The area also features St Mark’s Darling Point, one of Australia’s most iconic churches. Known for hosting elegant socialite weddings, St Mark’s was the site of Elton John’s 1984 wedding to sound engineer Renate Blaeul and was also featured in the beloved film Muriel’s Wedding.

Darling Point is located near the prestigious Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, famous for hosting the annual Sydney to Hobart yacht race. With stunning views of the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge to the west, and vistas over Double Bay to the east, Darling Point offers some of Sydney's most breath taking outlooks.
